On the occasion of the next product test that we will carry out in 365Rider, in collaboration with Saucony, we want to take this opportunity to explain the differences between the three models that the lucky participants will have the opportunity to try. The Saucony models included in this test are: Ride 17, Guide 17 and Endorphin Speed 4. Each of these training models has different technologies and uses, which today at 365Rider we are going to detail.

Category

To begin with, we have told you that the three models are training models, but what differences within this category can we find? If we categorize them even further within the training category, we could say that the Saucony Guide 17 are the purest shoes in this segment, followed by the Ride 17 with a little more versatility and ending with the Endorphin Speed 4, a model that, although We can use it daily but we can also use it in speed training such as fartlecks and series. What's more, if we continue to categorize each model further, we would say that the Guide 17 is a stability model, for those runners who need extra support during running and even pronators. On the other hand, the Ride 17 and the Endorphin Speed 4 would be a neutral model, although with good stability.

Basic data

If we do a brief review of the data that we runners like so much, weight, drop and profiles, things would look like this:

Regarding weight, the Ride 17 would be the heaviest with 282g in man and 238g in women's sizing, profiles on its midsole 35 / 27mm leaving a drop of 8mm. The next model would be the Guide 17, with 269 / 232g and a height of 35 / 29mm with 6mm drop. And the lightest would be the Endorphin Speed with 233 / 204g profiles of 36 / 28mm y drop of 8mm.

Different technologies, different sensations

Their geometries, foams and the inclusion of a plate or not will determine their different uses and the sensations that these three models will transmit to us.

As we have said, Saucony Guide 17, are the purest training model of the three. They have a midsole of PWRRUN, a very light foam but with the firmest touch of the three. This foam with a more controlled compression level along with technology CenterPath, (which consists of giving it a very wide base and raising the midsole to box the foot in, and not slide laterally) gives it that extra support that will come in handy for neutral runners looking for extra support or pronators. To give it a more pleasant feel, Saucony adds an insole of PWRRUN+. Finally, the pronounced rocker helps provide fluidity and dynamism that could otherwise be compromised by such a wide last.

Following the Ride 17, we find a model with a more elastic and flexible feel. In each step we will notice that softer and more padded touch that the PWRRUN+. A model that also has a good base, and that even being a neutral shoe, will give us the necessary stability to pass the kilometers.

To finish the Endorphin Speed 4, they have the technology PWRUN PB, providing good cushioning even when rolling, but with the highest energy return of the three. Next to the foam, a nylon plate which drives our step forward but at the same time is more flexible than carbon and not as demanding on a muscular level, for more daily use of the model. This foam and plate are supported by technology SpeedRoll, which plays with the geometry of the shoe to give it greater fluidity in each step.

Runner and distance

It is true that the 3 models are very versatile and adapt to a wide variety of types of runners. The 3 models can be used for long distances, for a wide range of runners, due to their stability and cushioning. But although they are all very easy to use shoes, the Guide 17 could be especially recommended for heavier runners, for its cushioning and support. It goes without saying that they would also be the most recommended for pronating runners. Neutral corridors those looking for a softer touch, would have a workhorse in the Ride 17. And for those looking for a model with which they can also make quality training, Endorphin Speed 4 They would undoubtedly be your shoe.
