Saucony continues its revolution in the training range. A few months ago it was the Ride 17 that raised its level a notch with the PWRRUN+ finally in its midsole. Now it is the turn of the Triumph 22 to evolve, the older sister and the maximum cushioning model of the American brand.
PWRRUN PB, the Endorphin foam now on the Triumph 22
It is the big change, the PWRRUN PB in its midsole. This foam that we could find in the Endorphin Speed 4 for example, will give it a softer and softer touch while giving it greater energy return.
It is the big change, the PWRRUN PB in its midsole. This foam that we could find in the Endorphin Speed 4 for example, will give it a softer and softer touch while giving it greater energy return. This does not mean that it is a model for fast days. Despite having this foam, the geometries point it towards what Triumph has always been, a daily training model. Its drop remains the same, with those 10mm, in a high midsole, with a lot of foam under our feet. This elevates these Triumph 22 one point higher in the category of maximum cushioning on the market. In addition, a wide base of contact with the ground will give us the security and stability necessary to cover kilometers.
Completely renovated upper
The mesh gains flexibility and comfort. The feeling is of a tighter and more elastic mesh, without being a knit but not a traditional mesh either. The padded collar along with a traditional tongue reinforce the idea that everything is focused on comfort in this model.
The heel part is reinforced with two plastic pieces. These come progressively from the middle area towards the heel, to give it support.
Outsole unchanged with XT-900 compound
Although in this part of the shoe, at least at a technological level we see fewer changes, not everything remains the same. We continue with an XT-900 sole from previous versions. Of course, the drawing has changed. Above all, the guide line from the heel to practically the toe draws attention. This will help give fluidity to the step. The rest, very similar. Although it is not a complete sole, the rubber strategically placed in the areas with the most wear is generous and we should not find areas that suffer excessive wear.
A maximum cushioning model for daily training
The Triumph are Saucony's most cushioned model for daily training, but if we compared it with other brands, they were somewhat lower in this section. This did not mean that they did not meet the standard, because on the other hand, they gave you a more dynamic model than their rivals.
This has changed, the model sports maximal profiles and a soft foam that place it in the leading positions. A model that lighter runners will surely use for their runs and accumulate kilometers, and heavier runners will find in these Triumph 22 a more versatile model for a wider range of training sessions.
